Businesswoman Multitasking Busy Mobile Phone Concept

Like many of you, I used to work a 9-to-5 job. I was very fortunate that, in the earliest days of my real estate investing career, I had mentors that were extremely helpful. I was especially fortunate that these mentors helped me realize one of the greatest real estate investing lessons ever. My mentors taught me that, you can find a way to monetize your 9-to-5 job.

You can monetize your 9-to-5 job by making the most of your hours while at work. Of course in a respectful manner, honoring your commitments to your current employer while simultaneously building a better future for yourself.

Perhaps you work for your city government. Maybe, you work in the code compliance or zoning divisions. If your city has a code compliance department, then there will be city code violations.

People with city code violations represent great leads for you to investigate during your normal course of business at work. You don’t have to go very far to find a good source of leads.

The big idea I want you to get from this lesson is that, there are probably a few things you do every day, in your current job, that can feed into your career as a real estate investor.

Even if it’s just as simple as driving a different road to get to work, so you can “drive for dollars” and spot intriguing vacant houses for future follow-up. The possibilities are endless, you just have to think outside the box!

Take care, comb your hair!
