Hourglass on laptop computer concept for time management and countdown to deadline

When I am browsing on social media, I see the same questions asked over and over again. How much money is it going to cost me to get a successful real estate business up and running? How much time is it going to take?

I’m going to be straight forward. You can get started and become a successful investor with zero dollars out of your pocket.

When I first started my investing business I had no money. I was flat out broke. That didn’t stop me. I was able to get started as a real estate wholesaler and create the money that I needed to grow my business and my real estate investing empire.

When people ask me about how much money it’s going to cost them to start investing, I always give them the same answer.

First I ask, What results are you looking for?

If you’re trying to build wealth in real estate and you have no money, you have the wrong focus. You need to shift your focus over to creative investing strategies like wholesaling. Once you have some credibility and you build your network, start rehabbing for bigger paydays. Use those profits to reinvest for your rental portfolio and build long-term wealth.

Second, I ask, How much personal time do you have to invest in your business?

It’s a trade of time or money. In the beginning, I was a one-man band. I didn’t have enough money to hire team members to help me answer phone calls or stay organized. As I started making money, I started investing in my business.

The reality is, the real estate business is all about leverage. You can only work so many hours in a day. Imagine if you could multiply your energy by building a team. All of a sudden you’d be getting results a lot faster.

The second most common question I get is, How much time is this going to take?

My answer is simple. It’s up to you.

You need to get the information and internalize it through action. You take action by being out in the marketplace, trying to put deals together, and making phone calls. I was willing to do whatever it took to get the results. I was somebody that had their back against the wall. I was so frustrated with my current situation that I couldn’t stand being stuck.

I wanted to create a legacy and that “want” drove me to take action. I wanted it so bad that I shifted from being a dreamer to a doer. If that’s you, you’re going to get results a lot faster.

If you don’t eliminate the noise, get focused on dominating your goals, and you don’t invest in your education and in yourself, you’re never going to get there.

I promise you at the end of the day you’re gonna be thankful that you didn’t give up on real estate investing. Now is the best time to start. If I could do it, I know you can do it too.

Take care, comb your hair!
